"It's the small things that add up to make the big differences"
BOARD CLIMBING 101 - EP1
In this video I talk about one of the best tools for training for Bouldering. While 'Board Climbing' might suggest a home wall or a massive structure or a specific angle, it really doesn't have to be all bells and whistles. It can be as simple as some small (for you) holds on a steep (for you) angle of wall and trying hard!
BOARD CLIMBING 101 - EP2
While general climbing is a suitable warmup for Board Climbing, I'd suggest that a dedicated warmup circuit on the board is a great way to bring consistency and reliability to your Sessions. A good circuit will ensure all muscles, grip types and movements are warmed up and ready to give 100% during your session.
BOARD CLIMBING 101 - EP3
While it's possible to just climb on a board and improve, it is worth considering setting problems that are within styles which feature heavily in outdoor Bouldering. In this way, you increase the specificity of the training, and get maximum usefulness of the tool you've got. By setting problems to focus on techniques such as tension and swing holding, as well as styles such as undercuts and compression, you ensure that you're as prepared for your outdoor projects as possible.
